Check your app's rank in other countries

Updated 2026-10-19

The App Store and Google Play apps only show the top charts for the country your account is in. To see your rank anywhere else, open a page that lists each country's charts, such as rankrapp.com's chart pages for 30 countries, or use a rank tracker.

Why can't I see other countries in the store?

Both stores keep a separate chart for each of their 175 storefronts, and the store app on your phone shows the one for your account's country. If your account is in the US, you see the US Top Free list, not Japan's, even if most of your users are in Japan.

That matters because the lists have little in common. On October 19, 2026 (chart data from 12:45 UTC), the #1 free iPhone app was Muse from Meta in the United States, setlog in Japan and Hana Bank's app, 하나은행, 새로워진 하나원큐를 경험해 보세요, in South Korea. Your rank at home tells you nothing about the others.

How do I see another country's top chart?

  1. Open the charts page and pick one of the 30 countries.
  2. Choose the chart: iPhone Top Free, iPhone Top Paid, iPhone Games, Google Play Top Free, Google Play Top Grossing or Play Games Top Grossing.
  3. Search the page for your app's name. If it isn't there, it isn't in that chart's top 100, which is what the pages show.
  4. Repeat for each country you care about.

Each page has a fixed address, so you can bookmark the ones you check often. For example: Japan iPhone Top Free, South Korea iPhone Top Free, Germany Google Play Top Free and US Google Play Top Grossing.

Those pages cover 30 countries: the United States, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Canada, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Turkey, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Sweden and Singapore. The stores themselves have 175, so for a country outside this list you need a tracker that covers it.

What about categories and other devices?

Charts are also split by category and chart type, and on the App Store by device: iPhone, iPad and Mac each have their own lists. An app can be missing from the overall chart and still rank in its category. Checking by hand means one list per country, per category, per chart type and per device, which adds up fast across 175 countries.

How do I track my own app in every country?

Checking pages by hand works for a handful of countries. To follow your own apps everywhere, Rankr (iOS and Android) shows where each one ranks in the App Store and Google Play top charts in 175 countries, and alerts you when it reaches a new best rank or enters a new country. No account needed.

What should I look for once I can compare countries?

And keep in mind that a rank is a position, not a download count. Neither store gives a way to convert one into the other.

Questions

Can I see other countries' top charts in the App Store app?

No. The App Store app shows the charts for your Apple account's country only. Use per-country chart pages or a rank tracker to see the rest.

Does the Google Play Store show charts for other countries?

The Play Store app shows the charts for your account's country. Each of Google Play's 175 storefronts has its own charts, and Rankr's chart pages at rankrapp.com/charts/ show the lists for 30 of them.

How many countries have their own app store charts?

The App Store and Google Play each have 175 storefronts. Every storefront has separate charts per category and chart type, going up to #200.

Is my app's rank the same in every country?

No. Each country's chart is separate, so you're only compared with apps in that country. The same app can be in the top 10 in one country and unranked in another.
